The Snooze-Alert is for any driver (auto, truck, bus, limo, taxi, etc.) who feels tired and needs to pull into a safe rest area for a short nap. This is an alarm device designed to hang just under the top of the steering wheel. It was designed specifically to fit the contour of the steering wheel. It is aesthetically attractive, easy to set, easy to mount (via easy to use hook and loop straps) and easy to remove before continuing one's drive. The Snooze-Alert is an alarm device that can be set from one minute to ninety-nine minutes in one or five minute increments. Of course you can change, increase or decrease the time as you choose. Set the time and rest assured. When the pre-set time runs to zero the alarm will sound. If you feel the need for additional time to rest simply reset the timer. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that approximately 100,000 police-reported crashes annually (about 1.5% of all crashes) involve drowsiness/fatigue as a principal causal factor. A conservative estimate of related fatalities is 1,500 annually or 4% of all traffic crash fatalities. At least 71,000 people are injured in fall-asleep crashes each year. NHTSA estimates these crashes represent $12.5 billion in monetary losses each year.
