Resistor wire for GEN lamp circuit modification on Bosch alternator systems. If the GEN light burns out or the original instrument cluster is removed, this modification will allow the Bosch alternator to still produce electricity. Technical Information: WARNING Incorrect installation of this alternator modification can cause damage to the printed instrument wiring connection board, reduce reliability, or cause a short circuit under the gas tank. This modification may not work if there is a failure in your wiring circuit depending on where you install the resistor. Wiring failures often occur at the point of connection from the lamp to the printed wiring circuit. Installation: This resistor modification will act as the lamp if the lamp connection fails. So if your GEN lamp goes out or is removed through vehicle modification, your alternator will still produce electricity. Install the jumper cable included with the GREEN end connected to a switched B+ such as the coil B+ terminal. Attach the BLUE end to the D+ BLUE wire between the diode board and the voltage regulator with the attached BLACK Posi Tap. Cable ties are included to secure the wire and take up any slack in its installation. This installation must be handled with care and precision with no bare wires or threat of vibration fouling. Our resistor modification cannot be installed across the GEN lamp socket wiring itself. Installing it on the GEN lamp socket is risky because the printed circuit material is very fragile and is easily damaged.
