AFM lifter failure is caused by faulty VLOM operation. Updated VLOM# 12571609 from GM must be installed with new lifter to prevent future failures and maintain warranty coverage.

This kit provides all of the components to replace the lifters in the GM 5.3 V-8 engines from 2005 to 2012 with Active fuel Management. It contains a cylinder head gasket set, all new lifters, 8 AFM lifters and 8 non AFM lifters. Failed AFM lifters are caused by incorrect VLOM engagement timing. Please replace your VLOM with GM# 12571609 when replacing you AFM lifters. Repeat failure is likely if this step is skipped.
