How to Connect the Jumper Cables:
1.Using the red cable, open the red cap of your battery and clip one end to the positive terminal
2.Then connect the other end of the red cable to the other (booster) battery's positive terminal
3.Grab the black cable and clip one end to the negative terminal (the other bolt across from the +) of the booster battery
4.Clip the other end of the black cable to a grounding strip (refer to car manual) or look for a clean, unpainted metal surface like a nut or bolt -DO NOT connect it to the negative terminal of your battery as this may ignite hydrogen gas from the battery. Only do this as a last resort.

Tips:
1.Do not connect the black leads first and the red leads after. If you do that and accidentally drop the red cable onto the car's frame, a massive short-circuit will form, possibly welding the clamp to the chassis.
2.Don't let the working vehicle leave for at least ten minutes. The dead battery must charge for a while, and sometimes will go dead again (especially if you do not keep the engine above idle).
3.When the cables are connected, do not let the cars touch, as this can cause an electrical arc between them.
4.Keep your face as far away from the batteries as you can at all times.
5.Never cross the cables while attached to a car battery.
