Knock Sensor: Detects cylinder block vibrations caused by engine knock and sends a signal to the computer to retard ignition timing. Failure Symptoms: Engine knock, loss of power, Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Electrical components such as sensors are non-returnable parts. Always refer to a factory service manual when diagnosing engine service problems. You can damage electrical components if the proper procedures are not followed.
