CURT cargo straps come in two varieties: cambuckle straps and ratchet straps. Cambuckle cargo straps are a lightweight option. They are made of tough, woven polyester and are designed to be highly resistant to stretching and abrasion. Cam straps are especially useful when securing lighter loads and fragile cargo because the user has a direct influence on the amount of tension placed on the strap when tightening. This makes it difficult to over tighten the strap and crush the cargo. Ratchet straps, on the other hand, are built to accommodate larger, heavier loads. The ratcheting buckle allows you to easily place higher tension on the strap and keep heavy loads more securely fixed in place. CURT cargo straps are available in various lengths and with a number of different fastener types including S-hooks, J-hooks and flat hooks.
