Don't be fooled into believing the hype that some of the other windshield manufacturers would like you to believe about thicker polycarbonate windshields being stronger, and more durable! There is no advantage in using 1/4" polycarbonate over using 3/16" polycarbonate in the manufacturing of half windshields for these machines, unless you think added weight, and reduced visibility is an advantage. The difference between a 3/16" thick windshield, and a 1/4" thick windshield is insignificant, as long as the windshield is designed, and manufactured properly. It basically comes down to the fitment of the windshield, and mounting technique. We design our windshields to fit the contours of your machine as closely as possible, with a rubber trim piece between the edge of the polycarbonate, and the hood of your machine, which protects your hood from scuffing, and provides a snug fit. That, in conjunction with the scored 45 degree bend in the upper lip, provides stability to the windshield, thus eliminating flexing, and bowing of the windshield while at high speeds, and when trailering. 3/16" Polycarbonate is lighter, and equally as strong as 1/4" polycarbonate when used in half windshield applications. Our Windshields Are Manufactured To Our Highest Standards With Quality Features And Made From Scratch Resistant, Super Strong, Optically Clear Polycarbonate And Are Designed With A 45 Degree Upper Lip Forward To Reduce Air Flow And Dust In The Cab And Also To Increase The Strength And Stability To The Windshield. They Are Designed With A Contour To Fit The Hood Of The Vehicle And Also Includes A Rubber Seal On The Bottom Of The Windshield To Prevent Scratching And Damage To The Hood.
