The air mass volume is required for the engine control unit (ECU) to calculate the correct fuel amount to the engine. The Air is changing its density with air-pressure in the atmosphere. In automotive applications, air density varies with the ambient temperature, altitude and weather conditions, therefore this Air Mass Sensor is a perfect application for a combustion engine.
