100% bolt-on unit replaces the factory oil bypass cover, just above the oil filter, and makes for easy installation of a thermostat-controlled oil cooler on any rear sump GM LS family engine. No oil filter relocation is required
Built-in thermostat reduces excessive engine wear and horsepower losses while improving gas mileage by preventing oil temperatures from dropping below optimal levels. Maintains a minimum fluid temperature of 212F (100C) +/- 5F in most conditions
Allows a small percentage (less than 10%) of fluid to continually circulate to eliminate air pockets and prevent cold fluid trapped in the cooler from shocking the system
Features an 1/8" NPT port for an oil sensor or a turbo oil supply line. 6061-T6 billet aluminum construction and black anodized finish. Rebuildable and factory serviceable. Female -8AN O-ring boss threads. Includes two black anodized aluminum fittings with Viton O-rings for -10AN lines.

High-performance vehicles require large oil coolers to ensure the oil does not become overheated during strenuous use. These coolers also introduce the danger of over cooling the oil and delaying engine warm-up, resulting in horsepower loss, excessive engine wear and reduced gas mileage. Oil thermostats perform the critical function of bypassing the oil cooler until the oil has reached its minimum operating temperature. Improved Racing's oil thermostat is a 100% bolt-on solution to mounts to the oil pan just above the oil filter. The thermostat maintains a minimum oil temperature of 212°F (100°C) +/- 5°F in most conditions. The compact design clears most headers. It features female -8AN O-ring boss threads and is available with fittings for -8AN, -10AN, and -12AN lines. This adapter can be mounted upside down on the 5th generation Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac G8 oil pan for additional knock sensor clearance.
