" No use crying over spilt powder" I came up with this kit to eliminate powder spills in my Dillon XL 650 . Flakes in short cases were the worst., but there were some other offenders. After fooling around with my press a few years, I decided to attack and see what I could do for it. As it turns out, I managed to get rid of the powder spills, and also smooth out the entire reloading process. It also eliminates the need for grease on the cam and helps keep stuff clean. I have hundreds of satisfied Customers using my product, and offer a no-questions asked refund. This kit consists of three items: 1. The Roller Cam Follower: The Roller Cam follower is an alloy steel rod with a double shielded ball bearing, slotted for ease of adjustment. When installed in your XL 650 press, you will immediately notice three things, your press will cycle smoother, the shell case slide will actuate cases across the slide and into the shell-plate with much less friction, you will no longer need to grease your cam and due to the reduced " Noise " produced by the solid follower, you will better be able to feel those other elements of the machine. 2. The Low Mass Detent Ball The included Low-Mass Industrial Grade Phenolic Bearing ball weighs approximately 1/5 of the factory issued Detent ball. This alone helps reduce a good deal of the energy of impact as the Detent ball comes into it's index position under the shell plate. Additionally, as it is a phenolic, it's composition is completely different, and acts as a vibration dampener. 3. Replacement Detent Spring This spring is custom matched to the Dillon Detent Well and is of lower tension than the factory issue. It is also slightly shorter than the original. Simply cutting 1/2 a gap out of your factory Detent spring will do a lot for your machine. Little at a time. If you can't afford the kit, start there.
