Fidanza Custom Adjustable Cam Gears are made from the very highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum. They are CNC machined to more exacting tolerances than even original gears. The outside ring is coal blasted before being hard anodized. The coal blasting gives the gear a textured surface for the belt to hold on to. The hard anodizing makes the outer ring incredibly durable. The inner ring is designed for strength, function and good looks as well. Stainless Steel studs are put through the back of the outer gear and then Loctited in place. The inner gear is then fastened with Stainless Steel nuts and lock washers. This gear set will work for all 3S DOHC NA and Twin Turbo Mitsubishi 3000GT and Dodge Stealth (set of four). Fidanza cam gears offer another benefit - they save weight in the valve train by being lighter than stock cam gears! Stock gears are 16.1 ounces each, and these Fidanzas are 14.5 ounces each, saving precious weight in the valve-train. Also, the adjustment bolts are recessed and flush with the outer edge of the gear, meaning your stock cam gear covers will work with the Fidanza Cam Gears. NOTE: When advancing/retarding the timing, the 5 nuts should be torqued to a maximum of 40-45 inch-pounds (NOT foot-pounds). On the 3000GT/Stealth, the center gear hub is turned clockwise in relation to the outer cog to advance time, counter-clockwise to retard time, so youre advancing/retarding the cam in relation to the timing. Common settings are +1 advance on the intake cams and -3 retard on the exhaust cams.
