This is a large & very well detailed Art Deco car mascot/hood ornament that is modeled after the "Mallard Duck Rising" by A.E. Lejeune (AEL). As such this hood ornament is very detailed especially in the feet and facial features. This special figure is made of solid bronze with a chrome plating finish. Bronze casting alloys expand slightly just before setting in the mold and because of this property the bronze will show even the finest details that the artist added. In these pictures you can see the beautiful chrome finish, which was commonly used on these kind of hood ornaments. The chrome finish is of especially high grade with a thick layer of chrome covering the bronze casting beautifully making for a piece that will sure be a conversation starter.
