Its no fun being cold when out in the elements but many people will be surprised to learn that it could be potentially fatal, due to the effects of hypothermia. Hypothermia is a condition in which the bodys core temperature of 37C 98.6F drops below 35 95F. Wind chill often accelerates the onset of hypothermia. When taking part in active sports at just 30 kmh, thats less than 20mph, the wind-chill effect can reduce the external temperature by over 10C, so its easy to understand how vulnerable people can be to this condition. The Softshell fabric is a three ply laminate with a very tough and tightly woven stretch fabric on the outside with a cozy 3D fleece liner. In between is a laminated membrane, which assists weather protection. These three elements work together to deliver an incredible balance of protection against wind and rain, excellent breathability, balanced warmth and soft stretch fit.
