The One Industries Gamma Raven Helmet is all about moto-rated, lightweight head protection. You probably know that plenty of riders refuse to do gravity-fueled runs with anything less than a DOT approved moto helmet, which makes sense, since they're certified for high speed impacts. Which means that if you hit the deck, your head stands the best possible chance of being unscathed.DOT certification exceeds the safety standards set forth for cycling helmets, and the Gamma passes those standards with room to spare. But its protection doesn't mean much if you strain your neck railing a berm with the helmet on. That's why One used a pre-preg fiberglass shell, which is not only strong, but lightweight. The shell is paired with a dual density EPS liner adding even more ability to slow impact forces.Large flow-through ventilation ports help to keep your head from overheating. Admittedly, it's not as heavily vented as some bicycle-specific offerings, but there's a strong case to be made that the added protection more than makes up for it. And the removable head liner is easily washable, so any extra sweat you do expel won't lead to a prematurely funky helmet.The One Industries Gamma Raven Helmet is available in six sizes, from X-Small, to XX-Large, and in the color White/orange.
