Compress front & rear axle springs on models with idler arm & some MacPherson type suspensions.

Here is a brand new suspension spring compressor set for Mercedes cars as well as several other makes. This is a very high quality kit that works just like the factory Klann tool for less than a fourth of the price! The plates even have the same interlocking system on the plates for security and safety. We use it in our shop on a daily basis working on Mercedes with no signs of wear in several years of use. It is perfect for the DIY'er or the professional technician. *The modification needed on the front of w123's is to remove 1-2mm of material from the inner diameter of the front spring perch access hole in the engine compartment. This is the hole that the spring compressor threaded shaft goes through to compress the spring plates and it needs to be enlarged because this threaded shaft has a larger bearing at the top for improved load capacity and durability of the tool. This improvement makes the tool slightly larger in diameter than the original 'Klann' tool and in order to fit through the access hole on the w123's, the hole in the body needs to be enlarged slightly (1-2mm). We have done this on several cars in our shop and have found no compromise of the structural integrity of the vehicle, but we leave that decision to you. It is a very minor modification, but we want to make sure our customers know what they are buying so there are no problems or suprises. All of the spring compressors available today except the original 'Klann' brand are built to this standard, but most vendors don't know this because they don't use the tools they sell.
