Manifold Air [MAT] Intake Air [IAT] Temperature Sensor. Measures air temperatures in the intake manifold. The sensor's resistance changes as the temperature increases or decreases. The computer receives this change in signal and adjusts fuel mixture accordingly. Failure Symptoms-"Check Engine" light is on continuously, hesitation, poor mileage or rich exhaust odor, poor performance and economy. Electrical components such as sensors are non-returnable parts. Always refer to a factory service manual when diagnosing engine service problems. You can damage electrical components if the proper procedures are not followed. Be sure you are replacing the correct part.
