The Master Cylinder is the heart of the brake hydraulic system. It converts the mechanical force of the pedal into hydraulic pressure sent to each wheel. Failure occurs when the seals become damaged or the bore becomes scored or corroded. Brake fluid can leak past the seals resulting in a loss of braking pressure and/or leakage at the firewall/power brake unit. The power brake booster is often damaged due to the leakage of brake fluid into the diaphragm. Brand new castings and components eliminate the need for messy cores and credit hassles.
