The CommuteMate Dash Air Vent Mount is simple to install and use because a lot of effort has gone into its design. A single metal hook extends into the vent and can attach to a louver or the louver control tab depending on your preference. This hook doesn't need to extend in any further than necessary to slide behind and hold onto a louver since a sliding spring-loaded clip will hold the hook firmly in place.

The Vent Mount is also equipped with two adjustable legs (as opposed to a single short and stubby tab on similar products) that allow you to adjust the angle as well as provide maximum stability even when the dash surface is not flat.

Once the unit is in place, the intelligent holster design allows setting your phone on a support shelf and squeezing the sides of the holster together or the shelf can retract enabling the phone to be positioned higher or lower in the holster for optimum viewing angle or to avoid contact with buttons on the sides of the phone. The holster grips have soft plastic protrusions lining each side which enable a firm grip on even curved phones or other devices. The holster can be adjusted to fit virtually all devices including iPhones, iPods, BlackBerrys, satellite radios and many others.

The holster is able to be rotated 360-degrees as well as tilted up to 45-degrees to provide portrait or landscape orientation and optimum viewing angle of your device's screen. Once you have positioned the holster in the optimum position, hand-tighten to hold firmly in place.
