Industry standards for springspermit an initial variance of +/- 10%. To "pre-load" thesesprings for greater initial tension, up to 3 spring shims(part # 203849) may be used with most of them. "Bottoming out"of a spring coil upon coil even once will hasten itsdeterioration so avoid using 3 shims if the "bottoming out"condition should result.
