The contacts are nickel plated over brass. The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. It requires an 1 1/8" hole for mounting and has .250 quick male connectors. It can be mounted against a panel with the retaining nut or use the compression plate to mount on thicker panels. Both the socket and mount are made of heavy gauge nylon plastic. With the straight socket cap and boot in place the assembly is virtually water proof. The socket is rated at 150 watts (12 amps) at 12 volts. Can handle 15 amps peak load. The locking plug is also marine grade, weather / UV resistant and vibration resistant when locked in the socket assisted by the rubber seals and locking mechanism. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled out, unless twisted again. The plug has nickle contacts and rubber seals, screw wire connections, an internal fuse, built in LED power indicator and is rated at 8 amps. The fuse holder is marine grade having a 10 inch tin plated copper wire loop, nickel plated contacts and waterproof UV molded vinyl enclosure that seals the fuse in when lid is closed.
