The socket is marine grade and is weather resistant and made out of heavy glass filled plastic. The socket opening cap plus the connector boot/cover makes the socket waterproof. The contacts are nickel plated brass . The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. It has .250 quick male connectors. Rated at 150 watts (12 amps) , 15 amps peak at 12 volts.
