MAP sensor is mounted on or connected to the intake manifold to monitor intake vacuum. It calculates air density and determine the engine's air mass flow rate, which in turn determines the required fuel metering for optimum combustion. Measures engine load so ignition timing can be advanced and retarded as needed. Regains proper fuel economy, engine power, and proper idle.
