This stainless band clamp will attach two pieces of exhaust pipe together at a swaged slip-fit joint without leakage, and without distorting the pipe under the clamp. The narrow band fits into tight spots, and clamps the joint together without distorting the exhaust pipe. Stainless construction will never corrode. Standard saddle clamps do a fine job of attaching pieces of exhaust system tubing together. But they do tend to distort the pipe, making disassembly and reassembly more difficult. A steel band clamp can exert the same amount of pressure on the swaged joint without distorting the metal. A thin coating of anti-seize compound on the mating joint parts before assembly will mean you can remove and reinstall the exhaust system relatively easily, whether it�s for maintenance or for simply working on the car. Racers who work on their cars constantly already know this, and always use band clamps instead of the cheaper saddle clamps.
