This is a genuine Bosch Dodge/Mopar OEM fuel rail pressure sensor. The rail pressure sensor communicates with the Fuel comtrol actuator through the ECM. The fuel rail pressure sensor for the Dodge Cummins 5.9L diesel is located at the end of the fuel rail. The fuel rail pressure sensor is mounted on the back of the common rail. The fuel pressure sensor consists of a high grade spring steel diaphragm with an attach strain gauge. The deflection of the diaphragm changes the resistance of the strain gauge. The ECM supplies 5 volt supply voltage and ground for the fuel pressure sensor. The sensor supplies output voltage to the ECM that corresponds to the applied fuel pressure. The output voltage is determined by the resistance of the strain gauge in sensor. The ECM uses the fuel rail pressure input to control the output of the Fuel Control Actuator.
