Engines move around on their engine mounts, and most exhaust systems are okay with that, because the entire system is hung from rubber. Even sideways-mounted FWD engines use a ball-and-socket joint to keep pipes from cracking. MBRP uses this T409 stainless steel flex pipe to connect their SMOKERS stacks; the engine is mounted in rubber and so is the pickup bed. Because the bed and the engine both move, there has to be some place for freedom of motion. This pipe may be the solution for people building their own exhaust systems. Because itï¿½s stainless, this flex pipe will never corrode.
