Release Bearings

Late style vw throw out bearings are a must to replace when seperating the motor from the trans. When inspecting your old bearing make sure to check out how it attaches to the throw out arm. Late style bearings have clips that are built into the bearing and the ears on both sides are flat. These are also aligned on the pressure plate with a tube that is bolted to the back of the bellhousing that allows the throw out bearing to glide back and forth on. Also if your pressure plate has a ring in the center of it then this isn't the correct bearing and you will need to get a early style. Since parts can be interchanged between both swing axle and IRS transmissions it is very important that you look at this before ordering.
