Dodge Trucks utility, reliability, and reputation has made them one of the most popular brands in America. Dodge's heavy duty axles and driveline along with its massive torque makes it ideal for towing. All of this equipment adds a tremendous amount of weight to a vehicle, meaning stopping distances will increase. Towing greatly increases the amount of strain on your braking system. Because of the trailer or loads extra weight the heat generated by the brakes can easily cause brake fade or warp the rotor leading to costly repairs, or even worse, brake failure. A braking system in such a large powerful vehicle is put under much more stress than a normal passenger vehicle.

What good is power without control? The ability to stop quickly is just as important as accelerating quickly, especially on a race track. As any weekend racer will tell you, factory brake systems will quickly overheat and fail when put in even moderate track conditions. That means worn pads, warped rotors and expensive repair bills

When the brake pad grabs the rotor, it creates friction, which creates heat. If that heat can't escape, it leads to brake fade, which reduces the brakes' stopping power. Another reason is gas build up. The last reason is water. If a car drives through a puddle, a carwash or even a rainstorm, the brake rotors can get wet. A wet brake rotor is slippery and difficult for the brake pads to grab. Having drilled holes on a brake rotor makes it easy for heat, gas and water to be quickly moved away from the rotor surface, keeping the brake performance strong.

Excessive heat can cause resins in your brake pad to vaporize or "outgas." As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surfaces and inhibits performance. Power Slot's exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into...
