The position of the collar determines its stiffness because, at its lowest point, there is little room for the bristles to bend allowing you to more easily penetrate in smaller areas where you need some strength. . The collar slides effortlessly and stays in place until you're ready to move it. The collar is wrapped in gripped rubber to prevent accidental scratching.
This one brush replaces 3 or more brushes in your detailing kit. Slide the collar down to dislodge crumbs from seams. Slide it up to clean air vents. The bristles are only 4"x1" so you can easily clean around mirrors and under door handles.
