The UWS TBTS-48-BLK black 48" topsider 1-door box measures 48" (l) x 13-1/4" (l) x 17" (h) and provides 6.3 cubic feet of storage space in a single compartment accessible through one side-oriented door. Following mounting of the box atop truck bed side rails (hardware sold separately), support legs (included) attach to the bottom, rear end of the box, and stretch down to the tuck bed to provide dependable support. The vertically-oriented door of the box utilizes a piano hinge on which it opens downward. Here it is held level at 90 degrees by two stainless steel aircraft cables, that together support up to 1,000 lbs. The box is constructed of 0.063" aluminum tread plate with fully welded seams throughout, and its exterior features an attractive black powder coat finish that serves as an ideal paintable undercoat for users who wish to alter the box color to match their vehicle. As further protection from the elements the box features a combination of vertical, heavy-duty MicroSeal stripping at contact points between the door and the box that help to seal out moisture, dust and dirt. It also has a built-in water channel extending from the box, underneath the closed lid, that diverts moisture away from the storage compartment in the event of a leak along the door seam. Finally, an integrated T-handle lock at the front of the box ensures dependable security for stowed items when users are away from their vehicle.
