EPGPB1084N Ford Small Block V8 4 bolt 50oz Claimer Series Harmonic Balancer One of the challenges for circle track "claimer" engine builders is to choose engine components that are both economical and reliable enough to stand up to the punishment of racing. Harmonic balancers are no exception, and traditional cheap OEM style balancers are usually made from the weak grey cast iron and have the rubber pressed in by the normal insertion method. As a result, the balancer castings are prone to cracking and the inertia ring will tend to spin on the rubber which is both dangerous and effects the engine balance and tuning. Using pressure bonding technology, the Powerbond claimer series has three times the push apart strength of traditional inserted OEM balancers for the best possible resistance to inertia ring spinning and dislocation.
