With the Schumacher "E-CHARGE" Emergency Car Starter you can get a vehicle's battery energized quickly and safely - without the use of under-the-hood jumper cables. Simply hook up the unit from dashboard to dashboard, through the DC 12V power outlets. The short end of "E-CHARGE" connects to the vehicle with the good battery. Then, the end with the 20-foot cable connects to the disabled vehicle's battery. After 5 to 10 minutes time, the power will be stepped up and transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle, and the disabled vehicle's battery will be energized to crank the engine. All this, without getting dirty or fighting with bulky, tangled, booster cables! The Emergency Car Starter is completely automatic - no buttons, dials or switches to worry about. The microprocessor-based electronic system protection ensures that starting the vehicle is quick and safe. Under-voltage shutdown protects from completely depleting the good vehicle's battery. A super-bright LED is built into the 12V plug for the disabled vehicle and indicates the charging status. Additionally, the 12V plug can be used as a light and even detects the connectivity between the plug and 12V outlet.
