This Starter Heat Shield helps eliminate starter problems caused by close proximity of the exhaust to the starter. The radiant heat of the exhaust easily produces enough heat to destroy the windings of the starter and solenoid. To deflect this problem, use this heat barrier to reflect the radiant heat produced by the exhaust system. The unique construction of the aluminized material provides protection by reflecting up to 90% of the radiant heat.
