The Valve Cover bolts to the Cylinder Head and covers the internal workings of the Head. On bikes with multiple Cylinder Heads, this is the Valve Cover for the Left or Rear Head (as you are sitting on the bike).
A used Valve Cover will be structurally sound, undamaged and will not leak. Cosmetic imperfections are considered normal wear.
