1996 Kawasaki ZX7 ZX 7 P Ninja Starter Clutch Assembly
Drive Train
The Starter Clutch is essentially a gear that engages in only one direction and rotates freely (disengaged) in the other. This allows the Starter to turn the engine but automatically disengages the Starter after the engine is running. Most commonly, the Starter Clutch is bolted to the Flywheel (Rotor), but can be located elsewhere within the engine.
A used Starter Clutch will be fully functional with all teeth intact. It will engage and disengage properly.

Kawasaki Model Identification Note: On all Kawasaki models produced after 1980, the 7th digit of your motorcycle's VIN (it is a letter) is critical in identifying the model of motorcycle you own. For example, if you own a 2000 ZX6, and the 7th digit of the VIN is an E, then you own a 2000 ZX6 E; If you own a 2001 Vulcan 1500, and the 7th digit of the VIN is a G, then you own a 2001 Vulcan 1500 G. Please confirm the 7th digit of your VIN number before placing your order.
