Meyle brake pads are right for you if you want minimal squealing and low dust levels. If you brake overly energetically during the break-in period, many brake pads will overheat and cause uncured bonding agents such as phenol resin and rubber to emerge. These agents cause considerable hardening to the pads. This process is called glazing, and glazed surfaces have a reduced friction coefficient, fading, and high levels of noise. To reduce this effect, Meyle brake pads are scorched. This eliminates uncured bonding agents by intensely super-heating the surface, and reduces the need for braking in new pads, making braking easier and comfortable.
