The box has a capacity of 12 cubic feet of storage space* and is constructed out of durable yet lightweight aluminum tread plate that resists abrasion and corrosion. Additional features include: self-closing struts, patented lid warp protection, front paddle handle locks, protection against moisture, dirt, and dust and an offset hinge that protects the surface of the transfer tank when the box lid is raised.

Modular, Multipurpose Storage for Truck Beds

The UWS TBC-48-CB 48" standard chest combo is a modular storage solution that can be combined with the UWS 85-gallon L-shaped transfer tank to maximize storage space in pickup trucks hauling liquids. Transfer tanks are used to transport non-potable water and diesel fuel crucial to many construction, agriculture, government, and other commercial applications.** The L-shaped design found in many UWS models allows the tanks to efficiently utilize the vertical space at the back of pickup cabs, and in the process create a storage space directly against the inner contours of the tank. The dimensions of the UWS TBC-48-CB 48" combo chest are 48 (l) x 24" (w) x 17" (h), and are designed to to allow it to fit perfectly within this inner area of the UWS TT-85-L-T/P 85-gallon L-shaped transfer tank.

The chest is constructed of durable, corrosion resistent 0.063-inch aluminum tread plate. Tread plate texture is both attractive and contributes incidental traction as the chest comes in contract with the similar surface of a transfer tank. Chests can be secured to transfer tanks with straps or other methods (sold separately) that do not involve drilling holes in the tank. Chests can also sit loose on tanks in tightly packed cabs where movement is not an issue. The lid of the chest is beveled, resulting in fewer sharp edges. It is also offset at its hinge, which allows it to open without making contact with the transfer tank. But there is more to this box than what you see on its outside. Inside the single compartment of the chest is a sizable 12 cubic feet of storage space. The chest is also convenient and esy to use. The lid open erect up to 90 degrees and utilizes an interior strut to both hold itself open and slowly close itself with a slight push. Once items are loaded, moisture, dust and dirt are kept out by patented MicroSeal stripping, while a foam element along the interior of the lid inhibits bending and warping of the aluminum which over time might otherwise prevent the forming of a correct seal. Finally, its paddle handle locks, with two included keys, allow for maximum security, and internal connecting rod helps to prevent chest contents from bending or jamming the locking system.
