Machined from a solid aluminum billet
The 73-92 style gearcovers are a great looking upgrade for stock 73-92 engines and are standard equipment on all black and polished S&S engines for 70-99 chassis. Gearcovers for this model year group have an internal breather passage required for engines that have the crankcase breather routed directly out of the crankcase
The 93-99 style covers are perfect for stock engines or any engines built with 93-99 stock flywheel assemblies, since they are machined to accommodate the larger stock pinion gear nut. This style of cover does not have the breather passage required for case breathing, so they should be used with engines that have the crankcase breather routed through the cylinder heads only
