73-78 Corvettes from the factory had a round case muffler which can be seen below your rear valance or bumper. In 79-82 GM went back to an oval case muffler, similar to what was used in 63-72. This muffler tucked up under the car and was not visible under your bumper. Corvette Central has designed a line of direct fit 74-78 oval mufflers so you don't have to live with your mufflers "ridin'low". We call these "Hideaway."
