Every Recon engine is totally remanufactured to the highest QS9000 standards. That's why we go to the trouble to do it right the first time, so you don't have to. We don't just rebuild engines like some companies, we remanufacture them. Completely disassembled, and oven cleaned with all plugs removed. Washed before and after machining, (minimum 3 times). Oil galleys are brushed and air cleaned between washings. All blocks are crack tested. Broken bolts are removed and damaged threads are repaired and cleaned. Cylinders are bored and precision honed, with main bearing caps torqued. Measurements are checked 3 different times. Torque Plates are used when required by O.E.M. Main bearing saddles are align-bored. New freeze plugs and galley plugs are installed. Crankshaft installed with all new bearings and rear seal. Thrust clearance measured at installation. Piston and rod assembly installed with Prolong assembly lube. Piston to bore clearance is measured three separate times on every engine. Main and rod bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications and Loc-tite applied. New or reconditioned camshafts are installed with new timing components included on most applications.
