These time actuated controls have solid state electronics and can be mounted in any position - horizontal, vertical, even turned upside down. The large easy-to-read dual digital display shows properly wired control, voltage output to brakes and connection to trailer. Microprocessor allows control to be mounted upside down and still have a readable display.
