The Crane Z Series Hydraulic Roller Camshaft features accelerated valve action which contributes to significant improvements in low and mid-range performance by opening the intake and exhaust valves at a quicker rate. It features advertised intake duration of 296 degrees and advertised exhaust duration of 304 degrees and a lobe separation angle of 112 degrees. They have proven to be compatible with popular valve train combinations, maintaining excellent long-term reliability. Another advantage is its ability to work in concert with Quick-lift rocker arms. In order to use these camshafts, it is necessary to machine a 3/16'' wide x 7/64'' deep groove in the rear main journal of the cam to allow oil flow to the top of the engine. A compression ratio of 10.0 to 11.5 is advised.
