Putnam Hawkeye Fifth Underbed Wheel Adapter helps in transforming the underbed gooseneck hitch into a 17000 pounds Fifth Wheel Hitch. If the lock and load underbed gooseneck hitch is installed in the tow vehicle, it can be removed from the underbed canister and the adapter can be installed into the canister. To remove the ball from the underbed gooseneck the roll pin and shoulder bolt have to be removed from the ball to insert the fifth wheel adapter. While installing the adapter the slide pin of the underbed gooseneck should slide through the groove on adapter.This will convert the 25000 pound lock and load underbed gooseneck into a 17000 pound fifth wheel hitch.
