UtilityRac is the original aluminum sliding truck rack system designed to help you get the most out of your utility truck. TracRac's sliding truck rack system is designed to help you carry ladders, lumber, piping and anything else you can think of safely and securely. When you need to load large items into your utility truck, UtilityRac simply slides back and can be used to safely secure items in the bed then easily moves back into place to carry long items. With the optional cantilever extension you can safely and securely carry extra long loads that extend out over the cab of your truck. Adding TracRac's optional window protector/bed divider can help to protect passengers from flying objects during sudden stops. UtilityRac is designed to be the most functional and long lasting truck rack on the market.

The TracRac 28101 22" UtilityRac is a sliding rack system specifically designed for use on utility trucks. The UtilityRac utilizes two aluminum rack supports that slide along tracks in 24" sections of base rail that are permanently installed into the body of the truck. The system allows for expansion of sliding distances with additional rail sections. Load stops are included for securing items on top of the crossbars. Additional features include: support for accessories (sold separately) along the inside track of the base rails, an upper load rating of 1,000 lbs., and wind and noise resistant construction.

The Original Sliding Rack Solution for Utility Vehicles

The TracRac 28100 UtilityRac series is TracRac's original sliding rack system for utility trucks. The 28101 model is the smaller of the two available offerings in the series, with rack supports measuring 22" high and a load capacity of 1,000 lbs. Designed to save space in working utility vehicles, the UtilityRac consists of two rack support structures and four base rail segments. The base rail segments are 24" long and oriented to overlap the top interior corners of utility truck side rails. Both sides of base rails contain tracks running their length. UtilityRac rack crossbar supports slide within the top tracks of the rail, while the inner track of the base rail is used to attach accessories (sold separately) to the system. Each base rail segment is permanently installed by drilling a few holes in truck rails and securing them using mounting hardware (included). The four base segments that ship with the rack are intended for installation in the far corners of utility truck beds. This results in easy installation and removal of support sections, and the broadest rack platform possible. Users requiring extended sliding functionality for rack supports and accessories can add additional base rails, feasibly connecting the original four base rails segments and creating seamless tracks that allow rack elements and accessories to slide the length of the truck bed.

The crossbars of the UtilityRac rest on support assemblies with integrated saddles at their tops that cradle the crossbars, and broad bases at the bottom that slide along the base rails. Angled braces are also present at the top and bottom of these sections to add further support. Crossbars are constructed of 6063 T-6 aluminum with an exterior a dual stage powder coat that ensure durability and corrosion resistance. The bars are elliptical in shape, and have an airfoil "trip strip" at their front ends. This makes them more aerodynamic than square or round crossbars, which minimizes possible impacts to gas mileage, and reduces wind noise that is commonly experienced in vehicles with racks. Quick release knobs along the base of support sections allow for slip-free placement along base rails. Bolts at the end of base rails add an extra level safety, ensuring that sliding elements will not detach from base rails, even if they are not completely tightened down with quick release knobs.

Versatile Load Stop tie-downs for Securing Loads

The UtilityRac system contains four load stop attachments that install into the T-slot grooves of its crossbars. The right angles of load stops and their integrated tie-down loops are designed to provide adjustable contact points along the crossbars' length for transporting long work-related item such as ladders, lumber and pipe/tube carriers. Each load stop has a rugged quick-release knob that allows it to be moved at will, and securely tightened down in seconds. The elliptical shape of UtilityRac crossbars and their compatibility with a range of TracRac and third-party hauling accessories also allow them to be used to transport a variety of recreational items, such as canoes, kayaks, cargo boxes, and so on.
