O'Rings are made of Buna N rubber material. Operating temperatures range from -50F to 250F. At extremely low temperatures the O'Ring will become brittle, however, it will still function as a seal. Upon warming the O'Ring will assume its flexible properties without harm. Prolonged exposure to excessive heat will cause the O'Ring to permanently harden, usually destroying its sealing properties. O'Rings are measured by their inside diameter and their thickness. When pressure is applied to the O'Ring its flexible and stretching properties allow it to "flow" and fill the cavity of the seal.
